Inaugural Warm Relief Initiative – Help Everyone Stay Warm This Winter

We all know how rough winters in Chicago can be. When we get hit with below zero wind chill temps, it’s a huge relief to step back into our heated homes and forget about the harsh weather outside. Unfortunately, for 80,000 Chicagoans, this sense of relief isn’t a guarantee for all 365 days of the year. From an article by Time, it’s estimated that 80,384 Chicagoans met the definition of homelessness at some point in 2016. Each of these Chicagoans, during these harsh winter months, must then find a way to stay warm, safe, and healthy—not a simple task considering Chicago’s average winter.

On January 7th, from 5:00-8:00 pm, we will be collecting blanket donations at our Berwyn office located at Luna Realty Group: 6426 W. Cermak Rd, Berwyn, IL 60492.

We invite anyone who can give to join us in giving back to our beloved community. The Luna Realty Group team and volunteers will be handing out donated blankets directly to community members in need on January 8 starting at 10:00 AM.

If You Want To Give Back More

If you want to learn more about how you can help Chicago’s homeless population, then Housing Action Illinois and Chicago Loop Alliance have great resources. In these links, you will find direct resources for those who are homeless or at risk of being homeless. You will also find ways to help directly in the fight against homelessness. There are also plenty of organizations to donate to that provide relief and assistance to Chicago’s homeless population. If you or someone you know is affected by homelessness, there is help available. Together, we can help reduce the struggles of our homeless population and provide them some relief in difficult times.

About Gerardo Zavala, Realtor

There is a true passion for connecting people with real estate that makes me fall in love with my career over and over again. While my title says, REALTOR® I think I am much more than that. For example, I am present and actively listening to my clients needs, on the spot when things are urgent, and by your side to say “congratulations.” Most of my clients will say that I am a connection away from support no matter the situation, day or time. In my opinion, customer service, educating the client on progress and next steps, and overall satisfaction are my top priorities. How can I help you?
