Our Favorite Christmas Movies To Watch During The Holidays

There’s nothing quite like watching our favorite Christmas movies during the holidays surrounded by family, opened presents, and if we’re lucky, snow! That’s why we wanted to spread the holiday cheer by sharing some of our favorite Christmas movies to watch year after year with our loved ones.

So, break out the popcorn, gather the blankets, and get cozy on the couch with our favorite Christmas picks. We know you and your family will love them too.

What’s your favorite Christmas movie? Is there one you never get tired of?

10. The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (Any of them!)

Whichever version you choose, there’s always something so irresistibly charming about the outcasted grinch whose heart grows three sizes too big once he discovers the joy, magic, and beauty of Christmas!

9. The Santa Claus (1994)

Who knew Tim Allen would make a great Santa Claus? This modern classic revolves around Tim Allen’s character being tasked with all of Santa’s duties after he is magically transformed into Mr. Clause. A great film to watch with kids who always wondered what the North Pole looks like!

8. Elf (2003)

This fun fish-out-of-water comedy is guaranteed to get a laugh out of everyone! Elf follows Buddy the Elf (Will Ferrell) as he travels to New York City, from the North Pole, and tries to get his biological father off of Santa’s naughty list.

7. Home Alone & Home Alone 2 (1990 & 1992)

We all know it, we all love it! Home Alone is a classic Christmas movie about the hijinks that ensue when Kevin McCallister’s family leaves for Christmas vacation without him. All the while, two robbers are casing the McCallister home and Kevin is forced to create elaborate, but hilarious, booby traps to stop them.

6. Jingle All The Way (1996)

This slapstick comedy about a father who desperately competes for the hottest toy of the season is a must-see. Jingle All The Way perfectly captures the intensity and hilarity that happens when there’s nothing more important than finding the toy that your child wants the most. Oh, and it has Arnold Schwarzenegger at his most comical.

5. Klaus (2019)

Klaus is a newer feature on our list that charmed our socks right off when we first watched it. This beautifully animated film is a retelling of the tale of Santa Claus. In this version, Santa is a bereaved loner who loves making toys but has no children of his own. A very cute and endearing watch for everyone.

4. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

The Nightmare Before Christmas is another beautifully animated entry to our list. We’ll always love the brilliantly composed musical numbers, the stunning visuals, and the wonderment that the movie inspired in us as children, and adults. A movie for all ages!

3. A Christmas Story (1983)

Is there a more quintessential Christmas movie than A Christmas Story? I don’t think any other movie perfectly captures so many of the feelings that accompany childhood. Even though this movie was set so many years ago (the ’30s or ’40s!), it’s hard not to relate to the charm, tribulations, and determination of A Christmas Story‘s main character, Ralphie.

2. Miracle on 34th Street (1947)

There isn’t anything to not like about this movie. If you’ve ever found yourself not believing in the magic of the holiday season, and the spirit of Santa Claus, then this movie will be what makes a believer out of you. Miracle on 34th Street is a joy to watch that will make any grinch’s heart grow three sizes too big.

1. It’s A Wonderful Life (1946)

We saved the best for last! It’s A Wonderful Life is a beautiful movie about the impact that we all can have on the lives of the people around us. A lesson George Bailey learned after being visited by an angel when he started to think that his life no longer had meaning or value. A must-watch from the ’40s that still resonates with audiences today.

Merry Christmas! & Happy Holidays!

What are your favorite Christmas movies? Are you going to switch up the films this year or stick to the tried-and-true favorites? Whichever you decide, we hope our movie list gave you some insight on what you can watch to help make your holidays a little sweeter, a little cozier, or a little funnier!

About Gerardo Zavala, Realtor

There is a true passion for connecting people with real estate that makes me fall in love with my career over and over again. While my title says, REALTOR® I think I am much more than that. For example, I am present and actively listening to my clients needs, on the spot when things are urgent, and by your side to say “congratulations.” Most of my clients will say that I am a connection away from support no matter the situation, day or time. In my opinion, customer service, educating the client on progress and next steps, and overall satisfaction are my top priorities. How can I help you?
